If you can knit a scarf... you can knit a bow cuff

Beginning knitting can be an extremely frustrating process. While you're imagining all of the beautiful sweaters and complicated patterns you can create, you find out that you are far from knitting anything more than a straight line. Some people never make it past scarves, knitting more for relaxation or something to do with their hands. However, scarves can get a little boring, and they can take forever. Besides, how many scarves do you really need? Here's a project that a knitter of any skill level can make quickly, using scrap yarn.
Here's how to make it:

Cast on 18 stitches and knit until the length of the strip reaches the circumference of your wrist and bind off.
Then, make another strip and by casting on 5 stitches and knitting until it's length is an inch and a half. Bind off.

Sew the ends of the longer strip together.

Fold the center in to create a bow like this:

so that there is a crease in the center and the edges are folded away from you and  sew through all three creases a couple of times to keep them in place.
Take the smaller strip and wrap it around the center of the creases and sew the ends together.
Flip the bracelet right-side-out and it's ready to wear!
More experienced knitters can knit the cuff in the round by casting on enough stitches for the circumference of your wrist and then knitting 18 rows in a rib stitch to create the main part of the cuff, all other steps stay the same.
